An AI consultant who actually sets the work up.
Search for an AI consultant and you'll find two kinds of people: the ones who sell advice and the ones who do the work. A strategy deck doesn't answer an enquiry or draft a quote. Finzo is the second kind. We work out where AI genuinely helps your business, then build the working setup — company brain, workflows, tool plan, approval rules — and hand it over working. If we don't think it would help you yet, we'll tell you that in the first conversation.
Where your week disappears
The jobs we'd set up for you
Find the useful AI opportunities
We look at the repeated work first: enquiries, quotes, follow-ups, files, reports, admin, marketing and small internal tools.
Turn advice into a working setup
The recommendation becomes a company brain, workflow map, first shortcuts, source-file map and approval rules.
Choose the sensible tool route
ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, connectors, exports or a simple internal tool, chosen from the job, not from hype.
Leave the business with next actions
You get practical day-one tasks, missing source material, tool-connection priorities and a safe path from draft-first to scoped automation.
Connected only when you authorise it, on your own account. Login & CAPTCHA stay human.
Advice is the cheap part. The fitting is the job.
The word consultant suggests someone who tells you what to do. Most of the AI market sells exactly that: an audit, a workshop, a report, an invoice. But ChatGPT can now work with projects, files, connected tools and the computer itself where supported. What it still does not arrive with is your trusted price list, customers, repeated jobs, staff rules or way of working. Closing that gap is fitting work, not advice work: organising your information and rules into a company project, building the first useful jobs and checking the approval points before anything leaves the business. That's what we do. Think of the difference between a heating survey and a fitted boiler.
What hiring us looked like at J & F Precision
J & F Precision is a machining and gun drilling firm. The useful part of the engagement wasn't a presentation about AI — it was sitting down with the actual work. Their enquiries arrive as emails with drawings attached and the spec rarely complete, and every one needs turning into a priced quote. So that's what we set up: a workspace that reads an RFQ, lists the specs that are missing, and drafts the quote using J & F's own rates and quote rules. It never invents a price — if a rate isn't on file, the draft says so instead of guessing. Around that first job we added drafted follow-ups for quotes that go quiet, invoice reminders prepared from their Sage exports, and a reviewed list of past customers worth re-contacting. Nothing is sent without a person approving it. At the end of a consulting engagement you normally have a document. At the end of this one, J & F had a system.
AI consulting services — what should be included
If you're comparing AI consulting services, here's a reasonable checklist for what a proper engagement should hand over. A look at your real repeated work, not a generic industry audit. A written, honest map of which jobs are worth AI help and which aren't. The built setup itself — we call ours an AI Business OS: the company brain with your services, prices, tone and documents; the workflows for your first useful jobs; and plain-English shortcuts your team can reuse. A tool recommendation chosen from the job, not from whatever the consultant resells. Approval rules written down, so everyone knows what the AI may read, what it may draft, and what always waits for a person. Training for whoever will use it, and the option of ongoing support without being forced into it. And two things that should not be included: lock-in, and a middleman on your AI subscription. Any paid AI plan stays in your name and is paid directly to the provider; the right current plan is checked before setup.
How to choose one — and what to walk away from
Questions worth asking anyone you're thinking of hiring. Can they show you something they've built, not just slides? Who owns the accounts, files and workspace afterwards — because the answer should be you? Does it keep working if they disappear? Will they tell you when AI isn't worth it for a job, or is every answer yes? Is the price fixed and agreed up front? Walk away from anyone who promises everything will run itself from week one, anyone who wants to hold your logins, and anyone whose only deliverable is a document. The one line we'd trust from any consultant, and the one we use ourselves: if we don't think it would help you, we'll say so.
It works from the company setup, not a guess
The useful part is the company brain behind the task: your services, prices, tone, documents, old examples, approval rules and workflow map.
That means the assistant can prepare work from real business context instead of asking you to explain the same thing every time.
Uses real sources
Price lists, templates, examples, exports and notes are mapped before they are trusted.
Follows a workflow
Find the source, prepare the work, flag gaps, save the output and ask for approval where needed.
Knows the boundaries
Read, draft, schedule or act only inside the approval rules agreed for that job.
Improves over time
Good outputs, new prices and better rules can be saved back into the workspace after approval.
It's practical AI, built around how your business works
Think of it like hiring someone, giving them a desk and a laptop, teaching them your business, and connecting them to your tools — without the wage, the payroll, or the management. It can even build you small tools: a quote builder, a lead tracker, a simple dashboard.
Useful before anything runs on autopilot
It finds the facts
The assistant checks the mapped files, notes and tools before preparing the work.
It prepares the output
Reply, quote, summary, tracker, report, checklist or draft action list.
You approve the important bits
Anything that sends, spends, publishes, deletes or changes a live system waits for approval unless a scoped automation has already been agreed.
Scope the setup
The full AI implementation can include research, business brain, workflow map, first useful workflows, customer guides, tool plan, approval rules and supervised install. Any paid AI platform subscription stays in your name and is paid directly to the provider.

Is this AI consulting or implementation?
Both, but the useful bit is implementation. We help decide where AI should help, then set up the workspace, workflows, files and rules so it can do real business work.
Will you just recommend a list of AI tools?
No. Tool lists are easy to find and hard to use. We start with the work your business repeats, then choose the simplest route for that job.
Will it send anything without me?
Day one, no. It drafts replies, quotes and chasers for you to approve. Later, a clear repeat job can become scheduled or scoped autopilot only after the limits, account and stop rules are agreed.
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. You ask in plain English ("reply to this enquiry", "chase unpaid invoices") and we set up all the technical side for you.
How is it scoped?
We confirm the setup after we understand the work you want help with. Any paid AI platform subscription stays in your name and is paid directly to the provider. Optional support can be scoped if you want us on hand for improvements, new skills and fixes.
How much does an AI consultant cost?
Advice-only consultants usually charge day rates, and they vary wildly. Finzo works differently: a fixed one-off setup fee agreed before any work starts, with an optional monthly plan if you want us on hand for improvements, new shortcuts and fixes afterwards. Your AI subscription is separate — it stays in your name and is paid directly to the provider. We check the current suitable plan after we understand the jobs and users. The first conversation costs nothing.
What do we own at the end?
The workspace, company brain, documents, workflows and AI account are yours. There is no Finzo lock-in or required Finzo subscription to keep the core setup. Platforms, permissions and connected tools do change, so the setup may occasionally need maintenance whether you ask us or someone else to handle it.
